Adhering to international standards, this plan showcases SOMIDA’s commitment to sustainable development and local community engagement, with a focus on using local labor and suppliers and closely monitoring environmental conditions throughout the project’s lifespan. [\/et_pb_accordion_item][et_pb_accordion_item title=”History” _builder_version=”4.22.2″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}” open=”off”]<\/p>\n Soci\u00e9t\u00e9 Mini\u00e8re de DASA SA (SOMIDA), is\u00a0 a partnership between the Republic of Niger and Global Atomic Corporation*. The company was established on August 11, 2022, in advance of the launch of the underground mine development at the DASA uranium deposit. The official start of this development was marked by an Opening Blast Ceremony on November 5, 2022.<\/p>\n [\/et_pb_accordion_item][et_pb_accordion_item title=”Location” _builder_version=”4.22.2″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}” open=”off”]<\/p>\n The DASA Project is situated in the heart of Niger’s Agadez region, an area with a five-decade history of successful uranium mining. Nestled between the mining hubs of Arlit and Agadez, the Project benefits from its strategic position. It is just 40 kilometers north of Tchiroz\u00e9rine and a mere 5 kilometers east of the RN-25 highway, adjacent to Tagaza village (see attached map).<\/p>\n [\/et_pb_accordion_item][et_pb_accordion_item title=”Geology” _builder_version=”4.22.2″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}” open=”off”]<\/p>\n The Dasa deposit in the western A\u00efr region, characterized by discordant graben-type structures from the Cambrian to the Cretaceous periods, boasts high uranium levels. The deposit lies within a depth range of 80 to 600 meters. See Exploration page for more.<\/p>\n [\/et_pb_accordion_item][et_pb_accordion_item title=”Operating Life” _builder_version=”4.22.2″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}” open=”off”]<\/p>\n Based on the 2021 Phase 1 Feasibility Study, a starter mine, representing approximately 20% of the known Dasa\u2019s resources, is expected to operate for 12 years.
